PIKEVILLE – Shelby Valley is headed back to the girls’ All “A” Classic state tournament following a 61-45 victory over Phelps in the 15th Region finals played at the Appalachian Wireless Arena on Monday night.
The Lady Cats, now 11-5, were able to pull away from Phelps (11-6) midway through the second half to punch their ticket.
Alyssa Elswick finished with a game-high 21 points and Zoee Johnson came off the bench to add 12. Tori Hampton tallied nine and Laci Johnson added eight.
Phelps landed three players in double figures as Danielle Prater led the way with 13 points. Kylie Hall added 12 and Kacie Lynn Dotson totaled 11.
