60TH DISTRICT TOURNAMENT: Lady Hawks win first title since 2018

Pike County Central bent but didn’t break as the Lady Hawks held off Belfry in the final 90 seconds to score a 51-45 victory in the 60th District tournament championship game played on Wednesday night.

Pike Central improved to 15-14 and advanced to the 15th Region tournament as a number one seed.

Belfry, which trailed by as many as 13 points, closed to within one at the end of the third quarter, dropped to 17-13.

Lindsey Bowman led the Lady Hawks with 16 points while Abigail Hess finished with a double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Emalie Tackett added 13 points.

Karlea Stanley had 16 points for the Lady Pirates while Jaaliyah Warren followed with 11 and Clara McNamee tallied 10.
