BREAKING NEWS: West Virginia Gov. Justice shuts down winter sports

Winter sports has come to a halt in West Virginia.

Gov. Jim Justice said high school winter sports will stop until at least Jan. 11. He did not clarify during his COVID-19 briefing if it will be the beginning of games or practice.

He is looking at preseason options which could reduce practice from 14 days down to seven for all teams.

Practice for girls’ basketball started this past Monday. Boys were to begin on Nov. 16.
