COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Bears drop road game at Cumberlands; top GC

The University of Pikeville Bears struggled from the free thrown line and fell on the road to the University of the Cumberlands, 81-73 in a game played in Williamsburg on Saturday.

Devin Collins paced the Bears with 20 points as UPIKE dropped to 11-7.  Korbin Spencer followed with 14 points and Jacob Brown added 10. Teddy Parham Jr., chipped in nine.

UPIKE will host Bethel University (11-7) at the Arena on Thursday. Tipoff is 7:30 pm.

The University of Pikeville exploded in the second half to storm back and beat Georgetown College, 81-73, in a game played at the Arena on Thursday night.

Korbin Spencer fired in 29 points and went over 1,000 career points as the Bears moved to 11-7. Keian Worrix and Teddy Parham Jr., finished with a baker’s dozen ach. Jacob Brown tallied 11.
