COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Late 3 sinks UPIKE men

CRESTVIEW HILLS – Thomas More freshman standout Reid Jolly hit a three-point basket from the corner with three seconds remaining to cap off a 9-1 run which lifted the Saints to a 64-61 win over the University of Pikeville in a game played on Thursday night.

J.J. Ramey led the Bears with 15 points and Jazz Parker followed with 12 as the Bears dropped to 16-6 overall and 3-6 in Mid-South Conference games. Jordan Perry, Korbin Spencer and Da’Rell Domineck chipped in nine apiece.

UPIKE will host MSC bitter rival Georgetown at the UPIKE Gymnasium on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.

CRESTVIEW HILLS – University of Pikeville saw a six-point, halftime deficit swell to 19 in the third period as host Thomas More run past the Bears, 70-51, in a game played on Thursday night.

Sierra Feltner led UPIKE, now 14-9 overall and 4-5 in league play, with 12 points and eight boards while Mary Englert tossed in nine. Mia Greatrex added eight and six rebounds.

The Bears will return to action at the UPIKE Gymnasium on Saturday against Georgetown College. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
