COLLEGE BASKETBALL: UPIKE losing streak at 3 games

The University of Pikeville men’s basketball Bears came out flat in the opening half at Georgetown and never recovered as the Tigers rolled to an 88-72 win on Saturday.

The loss was the third straight for the Bears and dropped them to 5-5 overall.

Teddy Parham Jr. led the way with a game-high 29 points. Elijah Herron and Jacob Brown tossed in 11 each.

The Bears will play at undefeated Thomas More University (8-0) on Thursday. Tipoff is 7:30 pm.

The University of Pikeville was unable to overcome a double-digit deficit as Cumberlands bounced the Bears, 79-69, in a home game played on Thursday night.

Teddy Parham Jr. led four Bears in double figures with 22 points. Elijah Herron followed with 17 while Devin Collins net 12 and Korbin Spencer added 10.
