COLLEGE BASKETBALL: UPIKE men split pair of home games

The University of Pikeville men basketball Bears held off a furious second-half charge by Cumberland University to escape with 66-65 win at the Arena on Saturday.

UPIKE, now 10-7, built a 13-point halftime lead.

Teddy Parham Jr. led the scoring with 19 points and Devin Collins added a baker’s dozen. Jacob Brown net 10 and Korbin Spencer chipped in nine.

The Bears will next host Georgetown College at the Arena on Thursday. Tipoff is set for 7:30 pm.

The University of Pikeville let a lead slip away in the second half as Tennessee Southern tripped up the Bears, 67-63, in a matchup played at the Arena on Thursday night.

Teddy Parham Jr. had a big game, scoring a game-high 27 points. Devin Collins followed with 12 and Korbin Spencer tossed in 10.
