COLLEGE BASKETBALL: UPIKE sweeps Sunshine State series

The University of Pikeville women’s basketball Bears knocked off Webber International, 73-60, in the finale played at Lake Wales, Fla., on Sunday.

It marked the second win in as many games, having beaten Warner University, 70-55, in the opener on Saturday.

Morgan Stamper poured in 18 points to lead the win on Sunday as the Bears improved to 9-4. Allie Stone followed with 16 points. Bailey Frazier chipped in eight.

UPIKE will be idle until a matchup with Mount Vernon Nazarene, Ohio on the road on Dec. 29. Tipoff is set for 1 pm.

Mary Englert had a big game with 28 points. Allie Stone tallied 17 and Morgan Stamper followed with 15.
