COLLEGE BASKETBALL: UPIKE women extend winning streak to nine

The University of Pikeville Bears used a 9-2 run midway through the final quarter to pull away and beat Bethel University, 74-68, in a game played at the Arena on Thursday night.

UPIKE improved to 15-4 overall and won their ninth straight game. Bethel fell to 8-12.

Morgan Stamper poured in 28 points and pulled down 17 rebounds for 13th double-double this season.

Allie Stone finished with 20 points and Mary Englert tallied 13. Sierra Feltner added nine.

The Bears will next host Freed-Hardeman (14-5) at the UPIKE Gymnasium on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
