HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Belfry rallies past Man; Jaguars roll past Bobcats

Belfry erased a three-run deficit against Man and went onto score  a 12-5 victory in a home game played at Massey Energy Field on Tuesday night.

Devin Jude had two singles and drove in three runs while scoring twice as the Pirates improved to 7-5. Steven Banks added two hits. He scored three times and batted in one run. Jake Varney collected three hits, one a double, and scored. Jonathan Banks singled twice, scored a pair of runs and knocked in one.

Wyatt Webb was the winning pitcher.

Cam Frye had three hits for the Hillbillies, now 2-2, including a double. He scored three runs. Casey Hurley added three singles and batted in one run. Jace Adkins delivered an RBI single.

Bo Thompson was the losing pitcher.

Floyd Central overcame an early two-run deficit to cruise to a 12-2 win over Betsy Layne in a road game played on Tuesday night.

Kadin Moore had three singles and knocked in four runs as the Jaguars moved to 5-8. It was their fourth straight win. Wesley Prater singled, walked and added a pair of RBIs while Jacob Bentley singled and scored three runs.

Winning pitcher Caleb Hager added two hits, including a double, walked, and batted in one run.

Cole Lafferty doubled in both Betsy Layne (0-6) runs in the bottom of the first inning. Losing pitcher Andrew Kidd singled and scored.

Jacob Fletcher had a pair of singles and batted in three runs while scoring three times as the Bulldogs moved to 10-2. Nick Collins, Brayden Maynard, and Ethan Whitt each drove in a pair of runs.

Jake Derifield was the winning pitcher.

Cameron Zimmerman blasted a home run and drove in three runs for the Blackcats, who fell to 7-4. Ryan Meade doubled, scored twice, and added an RBI. Jon Little singled in a run and scored.

Paintsville winning pitcher Ashton Miller and reliever Connor Fugate combined to toss a no-hitter as the Tigers blanked Magoffin County, 6-0, in a home game played on Tuesday night.

The two combined for 15 strikeouts and did not walk a batter as the Tigers improved to 12-2 and won their sixth straight game.

Ashton Adams belted a home run and knocked in four runs while scoring. Miller had two doubles and scored twice along with Barton Ratliff.
