HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Hall reaches 400 wins at Johnson Central

Johnson Central head coach Shawn Hall reached 400 wins as the Golden Eagles blanked Ashland Blazer, 4-0, in a game played at Eagle Field on Tuesday night.

Winning pitcher Cameron Kelsey allowed just two hits as Johnson Central improved to 14-8.

Ryan Sartin-Slone had a pair of doubles and scored two runs. Chandler Spradlin added two hits and knocked in one run while Brock Bowling singled in another.

Hazard pitcher Garrett Miller walked to open the bottom of the ninth inning and eventually scored on a wild pitch to lift the Bulldogs to a 2-1 win over Belfry in a game played on Tuesday night.

Wyatt Webb was the losing pitcher in relief of starter Parker Hall as the Pirates dropped to 12-9.

Noah Brown had an RBI single to account for Belfry’s lone run in the sixth inning.

Hazard’s first run came on a wild pitch in the sixth as Heath Pelfrey doubled, went to third on a wild pitch and then scored to tie the game at 1.

Paintsville pushed across three runs in the bottom of the first inning and went on to beat Lawrence County, 4-2, snapping the Bulldogs’ 12-game winning streak in a game played at Charlie Adkins Field on Tuesday night.

Gunner Collins belted a solo home run and scored twice as the Tigers improved to 21-4. Griffin Collins singled and drove in a pair of runs. Zach Taylor added an RBI single.

Connor Fugate was the winning pitcher.

Blue Fletcher had two hits, walked, and scored one run for the Bulldogs, now 18-3. Braydan Maynard singled and scored. Bryce Blevins added an RBI.
