HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Belfry slips past Pike Central

Belfry overcame an early deficit to earn a hard-fought 67-62 win over Pike Central in a 60th District matchup played at the Hawks Nest on Thursday night.

Sal Dean led a balanced scoring attack for the Pirates, now 6-7. Ben McNamee followed with 13 while Bol Kuir added 12 points, 14 rebounds and four blocked shots. DeMahjae Clark chipped in nine and Tyler Chaffin added eight points and 15 boards.

Josh Du Toit paced the Hawks (8-6) with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Jaylan Rigdon had 15 and Kasope Lawrence tallied 13.
