HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Hawks cruise past Bobcats; Rowe reaches milestone

Pike Central erupted offensively in the opening period and the Hawks went on to beat Betsy Layne, 94-76, in a game played at the Hawks Nest on Wednesday night.

Josh Du Toit fired in a game-high 36 points as the Hawks improved to 11-6. Bryce Adkins tossed in 18 and Jaylan Rigdon finished with 16.

Brady Robinson led the Bobcats (8-6) with 20 points. Jordan Frazier and Chase Mims added 16 each and Jake Rainey added 13.

Cory VanHoose led a balanced attack for the Golden Eagles, now 15-1, with 16 points. Kamen Slone followed with 11 and Grant Rice added nine.

Ryan Rose paced the Blackcats (6-8) with 11 points. Will Gullett chipped in eight.
