HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Panthers, Wildcats rank 1, 2 in boys’ Super 7 poll

The Pikeville Panthers maintain the No. 1 spot in the latest boys’ Super 7 basketball poll released on Tuesday.

Pikeville, now 11-1, is ahead of No. 2 Logan. The Wildcats are 6-0.

Paintsville (11-2) takes the No. 3 spot. The Tigers are winners of eight straight games.

Lawrence County (14-2) is No. 4 after a winning performance in the Kentucky 2A Sectional tournament.

Rounding out the top 7 are No. 5 Betsy Layne (9-3), followed by No. 6 Martin County (10-3) and Man (7-2) at No. 7.

Receiving votes are Tug Valley, Shelby Valley, East Ridge, Belfry and Chapmanville.
