HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Blackcats turn away Bath County

Prestonsburg had five different running backs score a touchdown as the Blackcats held on to beat Bath County, 35-27, in a game played at Josh Francis Memorial Field on Friday night.

Quarterback Brayden Slone and running back Nathan McGuire each rushed for 87 yards and one score as Prestonsburg moved to 2-4. Ethan Jarvis, Carter Akers, and Brant George each added one rushing touchdown.

Nick Porter,  Jarvis and McGuire had an interception each while Akers totaled 11 tackles.

Prestonsburg is scheduled to host Martin County (3-2) on Oct. 23, pending COVID restrictions are lifted. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.
