HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Early deficit sinks Tigers in road loss at Wayne

Chapmanville found itself behind the eight ball in the first half as Wayne rolled to a 28-14 win in a game played at Pioneer Field on Friday night.

The Tigers, now 22-0 at the break, tried to climb back into the game when quarterback Brody Dalton tossed a pair of touchdown passes to Preston Smith to pull the Tigers (1-2) to within 22-14.

Dalton finished with 152 yards passing and Smith hauled in six passes for 90 yards and the two scores.

Chapmanville will host Lincoln County (2-2) on Oct. 23. Kickoff at Tiger Stadium is 7 pm.
