HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Golden Eagles, Panthers remain 1-2 in Super 7 poll

The Johnson Central Golden Eagles and Pikeville Panthers remained the top ranked teams in the latest Mountain Top Sports Super 7 football poll released Monday evening.

Johnson Central, now 2-0, won its 17th straight game at Simon Kenton (47-17) this past Friday night while Pikeville (3-0) outscored Henry Clay, 58-41. It was the Panthers 17th straight win.

Belfry, now 2-1 following a big road win over Magoffin County, remained No. 3, followed by the Paintsville Tigers (2-0) at No. 4. Paintsville hammered Hazard.

Letcher County Central (3-0) climbed up to No. 5. The Cougars went on the road and beat Perry Central.

Rounding out the top seven are Shelby Valley (2-1) at No. 6, followed by Martin County (2-1) in at No. 7.

Receiving votes this week were Floyd Central (2-1) and Magoffin County (2-1).
