HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Hawks beat Jaguars in shootout, 70-50

Pike Central made the big plays from the very outset and the Hawks were able to turn away Floyd Central, 70-50, in a shootout at the Hawks Nest on Friday night.

Running back Keegan Bentley rushed for 250 yards and five touchdowns as the Hawks won for the first time in three games this season.

Matt Anderson had his best game with 225 yards and two scores while Noah Iricks had 100 yards and a score.

Floyd Central quarterback Caleb Hager passed for one touchdown and rushed for 120 yards and two scores as the Jaguars dropped to 2-1.

Trenton Hatfield rushed for four touchdowns and Brant Potter had 133 yards rushing and he hauled in a touchdown pass.

Both teams are back in action on Oct. 2 as the Hawks host Phelps (1-2) and the Jaguars go on the road to Belfry (2-1). Kickoff for both games is 7:30 p.m.
