HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Valley Cats steamroll past East Ridge

Shelby Valley amassed nearly 600 yards offensively as the Wildcats dismantled East Ridge, 60-12, at Teco Field on Friday night.

Running back Ethan Bentley ran for 168 yards and four touchdowns and Jayden Newsome had 177 yards and two scores as the Wildcats improved to 4-4. Newsome also hauled in a touchdown pass.

Quarterback Russ Osborne passed for 172 yards and a touchdown while rushing for another score.

East Ridge quarterback Dylan Burdine passed for 167 yards and two touchdowns. Receivers Zack Mason and Brad Howell gad one each.
