HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Wildcats roll past Blackcats

The Shelby Valley Wildcats built a 27-point halftime lead and went on to beat Prestonsburg, 48-13, in a game played at Josh Francis Memorial Field on Thursday night.

Keian Worrix put Valley, now 3-1, up 6-0 with a six-yard touchdown run in the opening period. Jordan Little added a two-yard score to push the lead to 14-0 after one quarter.

Worrix, who had 84 yards on four carries, scored his second touchdown on a 42-yard run to make it 20-0 and Anthony Pallotta hauled in a 25-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Russ Osborne to extend the lead to 27-0. Osborne passed for 200 yards and two touchdowns.

Little scored on an eight-yard run in the third period to push the Wildcats up 34-0.

Prestonsburg’s first points came on a 65-yard run by quarterback Brayden Slone to make it 34-7. Cater Akers added a five-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.

Osborne tossed a 29-yard touchdown pass and Pallotta ran 50 yards to cap the scoring. Pallotta had four catches for 86 yards and added one rushing touchdown.

Running back Jayden Newsome added 113 yards rushing on 11 carries.

The Wildcats will host Martin County (2-1) on Oct. 9 while the Blackcats visit West Carter (4-0).
