HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER: Belfry blanks LCC; Johnson Central cruises

Belfry won for the first time in three matches this season as the Pirates scored a 4-0 victory over Letcher Central in a match played at Massey Energy Soccer Complex on Tuesday night.

Ben McNamee scored one goal and assisted on one other in the win. Dalton Stacy, Logan Maynard, and Darby Fouch had one goal. Jasper McCoy and Maynard each hand an assist.

Goalkeeper Makaden Maynard had seven saves in recording the shutout. Letcher Central took 10 shots on goal.

Letcher Central’s Nate Cook had seven saves. Belfry took 12 shots on goal.

Johnson Central goalkeeper Tate Cox was solid between the pipes with eight saves as the Golden Eagles blanked cross-town rival Paintsville, 10-0, in a match played on Tuesday night.

Nathaniel Narendrakumar had four goals and one assists while Gabriel Johnson added two goals and two assists. Sawyer Crum finished with one goal and two assists while Ryan Finney scored one goal and assisted on one other.

Shawn Arms and Braydon Staniford each had one goal while Drew Conley and Peyton Sargent added one assist each.

Dilan Maxey scored two goals to lead host Rowan County to a 4-0 victory over Lawrence County in a match played on Tuesday night.

Blake Mullen added one goal and one assist and Brayden Ashley scored.

Goalkeeper Chase Alderman recorded the shutout win.

Martin County’s Sophia McCoy scored three goals and assisted on three others to power the Lady Cardinals to a 10-0 victory over Shelby Valley in the 15th Region All “A” tournament played at StoneCrest on Tuesday night.

Caitlyn Horn added three goals and one assist while Lena Hale scored two goals and assisted on two goals.

Savannah Young and Julia Pinson each scored once and assisted on one goal apiece.

Goalkeeper Marlie Fletcher had three saves and recorded the shutout.

Prestonsburg ran its record to 4-0 with an 11-1 win over Paintsville in the 15th Region All “A” tournament played at StoneCrest on Tuesday night.

Anna Burchett scored five goals while Lauren Johnson added three goals and three assists. Kadynce Hackworth scored twice and had one assist.

Lauren Patton scored one goal and goalkeeper Alivia Slone held the Lady Tigers to just one goal.

Letcher Central goalkeeper Kassandra Ramirez recorded her third straight shutout to open the season as the Lady Cougars defeated Belfry, 4-0, in a match played at Massey Energy Soccer Complex on Tuesday night.

Kyle Bates, Skylar Frazier, Brooke Bates, and Rylee Lewis each scored an unassisted goal in the win.

Belfry goalkeeper Jazzy Cline had 16 saves as the Lady Cougars took 26 shots on goal.
