HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: Pikeville finishes 2-3 at Pigeon Forge

The Pikeville Lady Panthers returned home from participating in the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, winning two of five games during spring break.

In the opener, pitcher Emily Ford set a school record with 16 strikeouts in a 5-1 win over Unicoi County, Tenn. She helped her own cause with one hit, two runs scored and one batted in. Olivia Hall had two hits and knocked in one run while Isabella Rose doubled and scored.

Pikeville’s second win came in an 8-0 win over Fort LeBoeuf, Pa.

Gracie Hall blasted a home run and singled while Ford added a pair of triples, scored twice,  and added an RBI. Kelcie Adams had two hits and scored three runs while Ginna Jones had two hits, scored. and drove in a pair of runs.

The Lady Panthers will play their home opener against Raceland at noon on April 3.
