HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: Sanders, Hannah lead Central past Pikeville

Pike Central third baseman Liv Sanders had a pair of RBI-singles and scored one run as the Lady Hawks defeated Pikeville, 3-1, in a game played at Myers field on Thursday night.

Winning pitcher Chloe Hannah took a shutout to the seventh inning before Pikeville scored its lone run.

Catcher Ginna Jones doubled and came home on Gracie Hall’s single into centerfield. 

Kaiden Hess had two singles and scored twice for Central. Jayce Stanley added an RBI hit as the Lady Hawks moved to 4-3. 

Lexie Akers was the losing pitcher as the Lady Panthers dropped to 2-4.
