HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: Lady Blackcats rally past Martin County; Belfry sweeps Lawrence County

Prestonsburg rallied from a two-set deficit to knock off Martin County, 3-2, in a match played on Wednesday night.

Molly Boyd finished with 21 kills, 28 digs and six serving aces in the 23-25, 19-25, 25-19, 25-13, and 15-13 win.

Jada Slone followed with 13 kills, two blocks and 15 digs while Mya Burgess added 13 kills, tree digs and three aces.

Belfry took a doubleheader from Lawrence County, 2-0 and 2-0 in matches played on Tuesday night.

The Lady Pirates took the opener, 25-14 and 25-20 as Clara McNamee had nine kills and three digs. Cameron Childers added six kills and three aces while Jayden Mullins totaled five kills, five digs and six aces. Emma Harris finished with 17 assists.

Belfry won the set match, 25-16 and 25-11 as McNamee had five kills, two blocks, five digs and three aces.

Harris finished with 15 assists and three digs.

East Ridge took charge early on and rolled to a 3-0 win over Jenkins in a match played on Tuesday night.

Hannah Blackburn had eight kills, two blocks and six serving aces in the 25-3, 25-9, and 25-6 win.

Kierstin Coleman and Sylvia Ratliff added seven kills each while Sarah Woods had 19 assists and four aces.

Phelps took the fifth and final set in a 3-2 victory over Pike County Central in a match played on Tuesday night.

LaRanda Francis finished with 12 kills, two blocks, three digs and eight serving aces in the 25-21, 11-25, 25-20, 20-25, and 15-12 win.

Amelia Casey totaled 13 kills and four blocks while Ivy Layne totaled three kills, 14 assists, 12 digs and 10 aces. Jaycie Stanley added 33 digs.

Betsy Layne rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Martin County, 3-2, in a thriller played on Tuesday night.

Emily Johnson had 17 kills, 37 digs and four aces in the 19-25, 25-17, 22-25, 25-18, and 15-11 win.

Madison Hamilton followed with 17 kills, five blocks and seven digs while Lindsey Watkins added 41 assists and 11 digs. Madi Meade totaled 70 digs.

Martin County was led by Alyssa McCoy with 12 kills, 18 assists and 10 digs. Olivia Maynard added 12 kills and 15 digs while Brynnalyn Smith totaled 15 digs and five assists. Lindsey Perry added 13 digs.

Paintsville went on the road to Magoffin County and steamrolled to a 3-0 victory in a match played on Tuesday night.

Hailey Little had 14 kills and Blair Ratliff added 10 in the 25-2, 25-2, and 25-6 win.

Kara Ward totaled six kills, three digs and 12 aces while Kynzi Slone had two kills, 29 assists and five aces.

Belfry saw a two-set lead slip away against Pikeville but rallied in the deciding fifth to score a 3-2 win in a match played on Monday night.

Clara McNamee finished with 28 kills, 15 blocks and 14 digs in the 28-26, 25-13, 21-25, 12-25, and 15-13 win.

Jayden Mullins totaled seven kills and eight blocks while Cameron Childers added seven kills and 19 digs. Emma Harris had 45 assists and nine digs.. Hannah Fite totaled 30 digs.

McKinlee Potter paced Pikeville with 26 kills and nine digs. Hannah Akers and Caroline Wright followed with 11 kills each. Jenna Ousley had 31 digs while Tausha Justice added 19 and Kara Lee finished with 17,

Mayson Delong had 10 kills and 15 digs in the 23-25, 25-17, and 15-12 win. Sydney May added 10 kills and four digs while Randi Delong totaled eight kills, 17 digs and three aces.

Brittany McCarty had 14 assists and six digs and Ava Cochran added 13 assists and 10 digs.

Randi Delong had 22 kills, 18 digs and three aces in the 25-19, 21-25, 20-25, 25-22, and 15 -9 win.

Mayson Delong followed with 19 kills, four blocks, 25 digs and five aces while Sydney May added 11 kills and four digs. Ava Cochran had 28 assists and 14 digs and Btittany McCarty added 24 assists and 18 digs.

Letcher Central was led by Autumn Wampler with 15 kills, 41 digs and five aces. Calista Adams added five kills and 10 blocks. Bailey Kincer finished with 38 digs while Charlee Hale had 29 and Kaleigh Tilley added 26.
