HIGH SCOOL SOFTBALL: Lady Panthers top ER; Lady Hawks sweep Phelps

Pikeville scored seven runs in the top of the first inning and the Lady Panthers rolled to a 13-3 win over East Ridge in a game played on the Reservation on Wednesday night. 

Cassidy Slater had three singles and drove in two runs while scoring two times. Kelsie Adams had two singles, walked, scored two runs, and added an RBI. 

Emily Ford singled twice and scored three runs while Izzy Rose had two hits, walked, scored a pair of runs and batted in one. 

Shana Ray and winning pitcher Hannah Akers had two hits each, scored one run and knocked in one. Olivia Hall blasted a home run and had two RBIs. 

 Losing pitcher Kierstin Coleman doubled in one run and Anabeth Wright singled and scored.

Johnson Central scored eight runs in the second inning and went on to beat Martin County, 14-4, in a road game played on Wednesday night. 

Josie Dials had three hits, including a double, and knocked in three. Kaleigh Welch added two hits, walked, scored twice, and batted in two.  

Claire Gamble added two hits, drove in two and scored. Lacy Smith collected two hits, scored once, and batted in two. 

Abbie Stambaugh was the winning pitcher. 

Brynn Smith doubled and singled in the loss and had a pair of RBIs. Keilan Jewell added two hits, batted in one run, and scored. 

Bella Muncy had two hits, walked, and scored. Zoie Hinkle was the losing pitcher.

Pike Central rolled to a 15-0 win over Phelps in the nightcap to complete a doubleheader sweep in games played at the Hawks Nest on Wednesday night. 

Emalie Tackett belted a home run and walked, scored two runs, and batted in two runs. Hannah May singled and walked, knocked in two runs, and scored twice. 

Livia Sanders doubled and walked twice. She scored three runs and added an RBI. Abigail Hess and Kaiden Hess each singled and walked two times while scoring two runs and driving in another, 

Linsey Miracle was the winning pitcher. She did not allow a hit.
