GOODY – Johnson Central held off a furious comeback by Sayre in the final quarter to escape with a 74-72 win in the Mountain Schoolboy Classic played at Belfry High School on Dec. 29.

Cory VanHoose fired in 19 points and John King added 18 as the Golden Eagles improved to 6-3. Isaiah May followed with 17 and Grant Rice chipped in nine.
