HS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Lady Bulldogs cruise in opener; Lady Jags nip JC

Lawrence County built a commanding lead early on against Pike Central and rolled to a 75-44 season-opening win on Monday night.

Kensley Feltner, Sophie Adkins and Brooke Neal fired in 19 points apiece while Tyra Hammond finished with 10.

Hannah May paced the Lady Hawks with 13 points. Emalie Tackett chipped in eight.

Floyd Central took advantage of Johnson Central’s poor free throw shooting to escape with a 64-58 victory in the season opener played on Monday night.

Katie Jo Moore and Grace Martin led a balanced scoring attack for the Lady Jaguars with 14 points each. Kennedy Harvel followed with 12.

Sammie Sites led all scorers for the Lady Eagles with 18 points while Kelci Blair added 17.
