HS REGIONAL VOLLEYBALL: Paintsville, Floyd Central reach semis; LCC tops Perry

Paintsville won its sixth straight match as the Lady Tigers eliminated Pike County Central, 3-0, in the 15th Region tournament opener played at Johnson Central High School on Monday night.

Hailey Little finished with 11 kills, one block, five assists, two digs and two aces in the 25-16, 25-15 and 25-8 win.

Kara Ward had nine kills, five digs and five aces while Hadley Hardin totaled seven kills, two digs and two aces.

Bella Blackburn had 23 assists, six digs and four serving aces.

Paintsville improved to 17-2 and will now face Floyd Central (11-2) in the semifinals on Wednesday night. The match will begin at 6 p.m.

Floyd Central punched its ticket to the regional semifinals with a 3-0 win over Shelby Valley at Johnson Central on Monday night.

Jadyn Hall had 10 kills, two digs and two serving aces in the 25-15, 25-9 and 25-20 win. Allyson Stumbo finished with six kills, one block and three digs while Alivia Stumbo added seven digs.

Amelia Wallace had seven kills, 29 assists and four aces. McKinnley Martin added six kills and three blocks.

Letcher Central dominated from the very outset against Perry Central and cruised to a 3-0 victory in the regional opener played on Monday night.

Summer Madden had five kills and 11 digs in the 25-7, 25-10 and 25-14 match win. Autumn Wampler had 11 digs and three serving aces while Charlie Hall finished with three kills, five digs and four aces.

The Lady Cougars, now 6-6, will face Wolfe County in the semifinals at 6 p.m. tonight.
