Dreams of reaching the state soccer tournament Final Four came to an end Thursday night for the Prestonsburg boys’ and girls’ teams on the road.
East Carter’s Ethan Miller scored with just one second left in the second overtime period to lift the Raiders to a 2-1 victory over the Blackcats.
The match was tied at one-all at halftime. Prestonsburg’ only goal came from Matt Burchett on a penalty kick at the 26-minute mark which tied the score at 1-1.
Miller’s game-winning goal was his second of the match. He scored his first at the 16-minute mark.
Prestonsburg’s season ends at 19-3-2.
Meanwhile, Ashland Blazer scored four second-half goals to snap a 2-2 tie and the Lady Cats went on to be the Lady Blackcats, 6-2.
Anna Burchett scored Prestonsburg’s first goal just 10 seconds into the match and Makayla Ousley added the second.
The Lady Blackcats season ended at 21-3-0.
