MOUNTAIN SCHOOLBOY CLASSIC: Belfry rallies past Magoffin County in OT; JC, Valley, Lady Pirates winners

Belfry rallied in the second half and then held Magoffin County scoreless in overtime to earn an 81-71 victory in the final game of the 46th annual Mountain Schoolboy Classic played on Saturday.

Sal Dean led a balanced scoring attack with 22 points while Bol Kuir followed with 20 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks as the Pirates moved to 8-7. DeMahjae Clark finished with 13.

Aden Barnett had a game-high 24 points for the Hornets, who dropped to 7-7. Grayson Whitaker tossed in 22 and Isaiah Salyer added 13.

Shelby Valley pulled away from Prestonsburg in the second half to score a 68-43 win in the 46th annual Mountain Schoolboy Classic played on Saturday.

Kaden Robinson paced the Wildcats (9-5) with 22 points. Zack Johnson tallied 16.

Grant Justice fired in a game-high 25 points for the Blackcats, now 5-7. Ryan Rose added eight.

Johnson Central held off Pikeville down the stretch to earn a 74-69 win in 46th annual Mountain Schoolboy Classic played on Saturday.

Cory VanHoose had a big game with 30 points as the Golden Eagles improved to 13-1. John King netted 17 and Isaiah May tossed in 16.

Rylee Samons, who left the game with a leg injury, Laithan Hall and Nick Robinson had 14 points each for the Panthers (7-6). Zac Lockhart added 13.
