MOUNTAIN TOP SPORTS: Lady Panthers remain No. 1; Lady Cougars now 2nd

PIKEVILLE – The Pikeville Lady Panthers held on to the No. 1 ranking for the second straight week in the Mountain Top Sports Super 7 girls’ basketball poll released on Tuesday.

Pikeville, now 18-4, is followed by Letcher Central. The Lady Cougars, 17-7, are up one spot to number two. Pikeville finished district play 6-0.

Shelby Valley, 13-7 is third, followed by Martin County. The Lady Cardinals, now 15-7, finished district play Monday night with a perfect 6-0 record.

Mingo Central (15-3) maintained its No. 5 ranking. The Lady Miners are followed by Floyd Central (12-7) at No. 6. Phelps, 14-9, rounds out the poll

Chapmanville (14-4), Belfry (12-10) and Tug Valley (10-6) all received votes.
