MOUNTAIN TOP SPORTS: Tigers, Cats remain 1, 2 in poll

PIKEVILLE – Chapmanville remains the No. 1 ranked team in the latest Mountain Top Sports Super 7 boys’ basketball poll released on Tuesday.

The Tigers, now 14-2, are followed by Shelby Valley (17-5) at No. 2. Johnson Central (14-8) is just ahead of Martin County (10-12) in third. The Cardinals are fourth.

Rounding out the poll are Paintsville (11-10) at No. 5, followed by Betsy Layne (13-7) in sixth while Lawrence County (15-8) and Logan (10-6) are tied for seventh.

Receiving votes are Man (12-2), Mingo Central (10-5), Pikeville (12-8) and Phelps (13-10).
