MTS/BWW PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Magoffin County QB takes honor

Magoffin County quarterback Lucas Litteral passed for 392 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for four scores, accounting for six touchdowns in the Hornets’ 46-36 win over Floyd Central.

His efforts on the field has earned him the Mountain Top Sports/Buffalo Wild Wings Player of the Week honors.

Special honorable mention goes out to:

Letcher Central quarterback Carson Adams tossed a pair of touchdown passes and ran for two others as the Cougars won their fourth straight game and moved to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in district play, beating Clay County. Adams passed for 187 yards and ran for 87. 

Pikeville running back Blake Birchfield ran for 218 yards and three touchdowns as Pikeville improved to 6-2 with a thumping of Sayre. He had TD runs of 55, 3 and 73 yards.

East Ridge quarterback Dylan Burdine passed for 266 yards and four touchdowns, and caught a touchdown pass in a road loss at Bath County.

Paintsville running back Harris Phelps rushed for 117 yards and four touchdowns on 11 carries in a big road win at Fairview.

Johnson Central running back Chase Price carried six times for 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Golden Eagles win at Perry Central.

Letcher Central receiver Nicholas Haning hauled in five passes for 130 yards and a score.

Shelby Valley quarterback Russ Osborne passed for 185 yards and two scores. He also ran for 73 yards and a touchdown in a loss at Martin County.

Martin County running back Kolby Sparks ran for 180 yards on 12 carries and one score as the Cardinals beat Shelby Valley.

East Ridge receiver Brad Howell caught four passes for 133 yards and three touchdowns in a loss at Bath County.

Logan quarterback Jordan Hayes had tossed a pair of second-quarter touchdown passes in the Wildcats win over Scott.

Phelps quarterback Bryson Locklear passed for 105 yards and rushed for 79 in the Hornets loss at Hazard.

Magoffin County wide receiver Aden Barnett hauled in five passes for 241 yards and a touchdown. Brad Standifer caught five passes for 101 yards and a score. 

Floyd Central’s Blake Adams finished with 133 yards on the ground and two touchdowns on 21 rushing attempts. Sheston Johnson added 103 yards and a score on 14 carries in the Jaguars loss at Magoffin County.

Lawrence County quarterback Alex Strickland passed for 136 yards and two touchdowns in the Bulldogs road win at Pike Central. Receiver Nick Collinsworth had an 80-yard kickoff return for a score and he hauled in a 49-yatd TD pass.

Mingo Central running back Norman Kennedy ran for 172 yards and three touchdowns while Keadon Bolding rushed for 139 yards and  pair of scores in the Miners win over Tolsia. Quarterback Caden Porter passed for 157 yards and one touchdown. 

Betsy Layne quarterback Chase Mims passed for 151 yards and two touchdowns, and he rushed for one score in the loss at Raceland.

Pikeville quarterback Isaac McNamee passed for 173 yards and two scores in the Panthers home win over Sayre.
