STATE SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT: Lady Eagles fall to Boyle County, 1-0

It took the span of three days, including a near four-hour rain delay in the bottom of the seventh inning on Sunday, to complete the state softball tournament showdown between Johnson Central and Boyle County.

The Lady Eagles stranded six base runners over the final three innings in a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to the Lady Rebels at Kentucky’s John Croop Stadium.

Losing pitcher Chloe VanHoose struck out 11 batters as Johnson Central’s season ends at 33-7.

Randi Delong, Clara Blair, Madelyn Vaughn and VanHoose each singled in the loss.
