Martin County should have played in the Sweet 16 three years ago, but COVID canceled the event.

The Cardinals finally got the opportunity to play at Rupp Arena against Frederick Douglass, arguably the most talented team, in the field.

The Broncos took control in the second quarter and went on to eliminate the Cardinals, 73-53, on Thursday night.

Brayden McKenzie paced the Cardinals with 11 points. Luke Hale and  Devan Maynard followed with nine each.

Aveion Chenualt paced the Broncos, now 32-2, with a game-high 18 points.
