UPIKE BASKETBALL: Bears remain No. 5 in latest NAIA coaches’ poll

The NAIA Coaches Top 25 basketball poll finds the University of Pikeville Bears clinging to the No. 5 spot this week.

Coach Kelly Wells’ team maintained its pre-season ranking and are off to a 10-0 start heading into Mid-South Conference play next week.

The Bears are one of only three teams with 10-plus wins and have now been ranked 76 consecutive polls in the Top 25.

Pikeville is one of six MSC schools in the poll, behind No. 1 Georgetown, but ahead of No. 18 Life and No. 23 Thomas More. Lindsey Wilson and Shawnee State received votes.

UPIKE will face Life University at the Appalachian Wireless Arena on Dec. 8. Tip-off is 8 p.m.
