Paintsville continued its outstanding pitching as the Tigers blanked Lawrence County, 6-0, in the opening round of the 15th Region tournament played at Stonecrest Sports Complex on Sunday.
It was the third straight post-season shutout as Paintsville improved to 28-8.
Ashton Miller had two hits, including a double, knocked in three runs and scored. Austin Allen singled and drove in two runs while AJ James singled twice, walked, and added an RBI.
Winning pitcher Jonah Porter reached base twice and scored.
Will Lafferty had two singles in the loss. Blake Prater singled and walked.
Jake Derifield took the loss.

Pikeville erupted for six runs in the bottom of the second inning and the Panthers went on to blank Belfry, 10-0, in the opening round of the 15th Region tournament played at Stonecrest Sports Complex on Sunday.
Dylan Thompson and Bash Ryan combined to toss a no-hitter as the Panthers moved to 22-11. Pikeville has now allowed a run in three post-season games.
Jeb Wilkerson doubled, knocked in three runs, and scored. Thompson singled, walked two times, scored two runs, and added an RBI.
Bradyn Hall and Noah Jarrell both singled in a run and scored.
Jonah Adkins was the losing pitcher.

Pike Central scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning and the Hawks held off Shelby Valley, 5-4, in the opening round of the 15th Region tournament played at Stonecrest Sports Complex on Sunday.
Peyton Compton singled in one run and scored as the Hawks improved to 19-11. Blake Hager singled and scored while Izaac Blankenship walked, scored, and added an RBI.
Cameron Shearer was the winning pitcher as Central moved to 19-11.
Bryce Bentley had two hits and batted in three runs for the Wildcats. Riley Newsome singled and scored twice and Caden Justice added an RBI hit.
Samuel Brown was the losing pitcher as the Wildcats season ended at 15-17.

Johnson Central pushed across eight runs in the top of the fourth inning to pull away and beat Floyd Central, 10-4, in the opening round of the 15th Region tournament played at Stonecrest Sports Complex on Sunday.
Kaleb Callaham singled twice, knocked in two runs, and scored twice as the Golden Eagles improved to 21-14.
Chase Preece doubled, walked, scored, and added an RBI. Brock Butcher singled, batted in two runs and scored. Gavin Crum walked twice and added an RBI.
Losing pitcher Jacob Bentley doubled in three runs as the Jaguars season ended at 15-16. Logan Moore doubled in one run.
Dawson Montgomery was the winning pitcher.
