Belfry ace hurler Molly Fahm left the tying runs on base in the seventh inning as the Lady Pirates turned back Paintsville, 4-2, in the opening round of the 15th Region softball tournament played at StoneCrest on Sunday.
Natalie Fite belted and a home run and doubled and batted in two runs as Belfry improved to 20-11 and advanced to the semifinals.
Myra Bevins singled, walked and scored while Alexia Bevins singled in a pair of runs.
Losing pitcher Laney Bledsoe doubled twice and scored. Kelsey Nusspickel singled in a run while Chessa Collins added two hits.

Lawrence County’s Bree Jones had three extra base hits, including a triple, scored three times to help power the Lady Bulldogs to an 11-1 mercy-rule win over Pikeville in the opening round of the 15thRegion softball tournament played at StoneCrest on Sunday.
Gracie Preece doubled, singled, walked, scored a pair of runs and added an RBI. Kensley Feltner added two singles, walked, batted in one run, and scored twice.
Shelby Blevins singled in one run and walked to aid winning pitcher Taylor Blevins as the Lady Bulldogs improved to 26-12 and advanced to the semifinals.
Caroline Brown had three hits, including a double in the loss. She batted in the only Pikeville run. Cassidy Slater singled twice and scored. Shana Ray added a single.
Lexie Akers was the losing pitcher as the Lady Panthers finished 15-20.

Kyra Looney had three hits, including a double, knocked in three runs and scored twice as the Bat Kats moved to 21-8 and advanced to the semifinals.
Lindsey Reed doubled and singled, was hit by a pitch, drove in three runs, and scored a pair. Riley Fleming added three hits and scored three runs.
Elaina Tackett singled twice, was hit by a pitch, and added a pair of RBIs.
Lilly Blackburn was the winning pitcher. She did not allow a hit.
Floyd Central’s season ended at 10-13.

Defending 15th Region champion Johnson Central was down to its final six outs against Pike Central.
Trailing 4-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Lady Eagles rallied for six runs to stun Pike Central, 7-4, in the opening round of the softball tournament played at StoneCrest on Sunday.
Randi Delong hit a go-ahead three-run homer to fuel the big inning. She also doubled. Mayson Delong had two hits, including a double, scored twice and added an RBI.
Starting pitcher Maddie Vaughn added an RBI single as Johnson Central improved to 26-9. Keylee Blair was the winning pitcher in relief.
Losing pitcher Chloe Hannah singled in am pair of runs and walked as Central’s season ended at 26-12.
Livia Sanders had three hits and scored while Abby Hess added three hits, walked, and scored. Taylor Hannah added two hits.
Jaycie Stanley and Cailyn Holbrook both had an RBI single.
