Two-time defending 15th Region champion Pikeville took the lead early against Belfry and went onto advance to the championship game with a 53-38 win in the semifinal-round matchup played at the Appalachian Wireless Arena on Saturday afternoon.
Pikeville, now 24-5, will battle Johnson Central (22-4) at 7 pm Monday night. Belfry’s season ends at 21-8.
Rylee Theiss came off the bench to score 13 to lead Pikeville. Kenzie Maynard followed with 12 and Trinity Rowe tossed in 10. Kristen Whited chipped in nine.
Kyera Thornsbury poured in a game-high 23 for the Lady Pirates. Linzee Phillips added eight.

Johnson Central led from wire-to-wire against Lawrence County to punch their ticket to the championship game with a 64-49 win in the semifinal-round matchup played at the Appalachian Wireless Arena on Saturday afternoon.
Sammie Sites paced the Lady Eagles, now 22-4, with 19 points and KK Vannoy followed with 18. Taylor McKenzie added 11.
Kensley Feltner finished with a double-double for the Lady Bulldogs (19-11) with 31 points and 13 rebounds.
The Lady Eagles will face Pikeville (24-5) at 7 pm Monday night with a trip to Rupp Arena on the line.
