PIPPA PASSES – Letcher Central’s Lady Cougars had lost both regular season matchups with Knott County Central.
All that is forgotten following Thursday night’s come-from-behind 55-41 victory over the Lady Patriots in the 53rd District Tournament championship game played at Alice Lloyd College.
The game was tied at 32 all heading into the final eight minutes. LCC outscored KCC 23-9 in the period for the margin of victory.
Kaylee Banks led the Lady Cougars with 20 points while Brooklynn Collins followed with 15. Loren Boggs chipped in nine.
Letcher Central improved to 22-10 while Knott Central dropped to 18-12. Both advance to next week’s 14th Region Tournament.
