PIPPA PASSES – A season which has been filled with so many disappointments for Letcher Central rose from the ashes when the Cougars stunned Knott County Central, 45-44, to claim the 53rd District Tournament championship on Friday night.
LCC, now 8-19, had lost both regular-season matchups to the Patriots, who fell to 17-10.
Parkers Williams paced the Cougars with 15 points and Ryan Lebrun followed with 11. Bodie Bentley chipped in seven.
