57TH DISTRICT TOURNAMENT: Cardinals finish unbeaten at home in winning crown

INEZ – Martin County’s Cardinals were able to protect their house all season long.

The Cardinals took charge early on against Paintsville and led wire-to-wire to claim the 57th District Tournament title with a 56-41 win over the Tigers on Friday night.

Brady Dingess fired in 24 points and Trey James added 10 and 17 rebounds, including 15 on the defensive end of the floor, to help the Cardinals move to 19-12, and win for the 10th straight time.

Braxton Maynard chipped in nine and Jordan Dalton added seven.

Braxton Tharp was the only Tiger (15-13) double figures with 12 points. Nick Keeton tossed in eight and had 14 boards. Colby Fugate and Ryan Gibson chipped in six each.
