Johnson Central scored six runs in the bottom of the second inning and went on to blank cross-0town rival Paintsville, 10-0, in the 57th District tournament championship game played at Eagle Field on Wednesday.
Winning pitcher Maddie Vaughn scattered four hits over four innings, striking out seven and allowing one walk as the Lady Eagles improved to 22-13. Vaughn had a pair of doubles and an RBI.
Mayson Delong had four hits, including a triple, and batted in one run while Abigail Williams doubled, walked, drove in two runs, and scored.
Macy Conley doubled in two runs and scored. Claire Gamble singled and scored three runs.
Losing pitcher Laney Bledsoe paced the Lady Tigers with a pair of singles as Paintsville dropped to 13-16. Zoey Jordan, Ashley Wells and Mattie Ratliff each singled.
