INEZ – Martin County’s climb to the top of the 57th District has come with bumps in the road this season.
Thursday night it was smooth sailing as the Lady Cardinals dominated Johnson Central, running away with the crown, 46-32, in the championship matchup played at MCHS Gymnasium.
Madison Thompson’s MVP performance included 23 points and 16 rebounds, including 13 on the defensive end of the floor as the Lady Cardinals improved to 21-9.
Lakyn Porter added 12 as Martin County advanced to the 15th Region tournament as a number one seed.
Sammi Sites paced the Lady Eagles, now 16-14, with 10 points.
