57TH DISTRICT TOURNAMENT: Lady Tigers stun Lady Eagles; Lady Cards advance

Paintsville and Johnson Central battled down to the wire as the Lady Tigers held on for a 44-41 victory in the 57th District semifinals matchup played on Monday night.

The Lady Tigers improved to 19-10 and beat the Lady Eagles (21-7) for the first time in three games this season.

Kylie Kinner paced Paintsville with a game-high 19 points. Emilea Preece added eight points and finished with 10 rebounds.

Taylor McKenzie tallied 13 points to lead Johnson Central.

Martin County was able to shake off Magoffin County in the second half to score a 66-48 win in the 57th District tournament semifinals played at Paintsville on Monday night.

Laken Williams finished with a game-high 23 points as the Lady Cardinals improved to 24-5. Katie Marcum followed with 14 and Brooklyn Marcum tossed in 10.

Karah Lafferty poured in 21 points in the loss. Kennedy Williams tallied 10.

Magoffin County finished 10-19.
