Paintsville overcame a slow start to eliminate Magoffin County, 57-46, in the boys’ 57th District tournament matchup played on Wednesday night.
The Tigers, now 11-8, advance to Friday night’s championship game against cross-town rival Johnson Central. The Hornets season ends at 12-12.
Colby Fugate fired in 19 points to lead a trio of Tigers in double figures. Baron Ratliff tossed in 17 and Connor Fugate added 14.
Aden Barnett paced the Hornets with 19 points and Isaiah Salyer followed with 16.
