GOODY – Belfry standout Katie Ball was held below her season average. In fact, she only had two points at halftime in last night’s 60th District Tournament championship game.
She had help this night as Cushi Fletcher poured in 20 points and Kyera Thornsbury followed with 14 as Belfry defeated Pike County Central, 58-35.
Ball finished with 13 as the Lady Pirates improved to 15-14 and earned a number one seed in next week’s 15th Region Tournament.
The Lady Hawks, now 13-15, were led by Bailey Birchfield’s 16 points. Kelsi Brinager was held to just 11 points. Central advances as a number two seed in the regional tournament.
