Johnson Central’s Lady Eagles used a strong first-half performance to pull away and beat Paintsville, 51-31, in the 57th District girls’ championship played at Magoffin County on Thursday night.
It marks the 22nd title in school history as JC improved to 20-4. Paintsville fell to 14-10.
Sammi Sites led the Lady Eagles with 27 points. She hit seven, three-point goals. Kelci Blair tallied 11.
Ava Hyden paced the Lady Tigers with 10 points.
