Pikeville took a close second set to sweep Betsy Layne, 2-0, in the 15th Region All A Classic championship match played at T.W. Oliver Memorial Gymnasium on Thursday night.
McKinlee Potter had 15 kills and reached 1,000 for her career in the 25-10 and 25-22 win. Caroline Wright added eight kills while Jenna Ousley finished with 11 digs and four assists as the Lady Panthers moved to 9-0 on the season.
Tausha Justice collected 12 dig and Grace Clark added 27 assists and two aces.

Pikeville advanced to the championship match with a 2-0 victory over Paintsville in a match played at T.W. Oliver Memorial Gymnasium on Wednesday night.
McKinlee Potter had 13 kills and Jenna Ousley added 20 digs in the 26-24 and 25-18 semifinal win.
Tausha Justice finished with 11 digs and two aces and Kara Lee had eight kills and two digs. Grace Clark totaled 25 assists.

Betsy Layne moved into the championship match of the All A Classic with a 2-0 victory over Prestonsburg in a match played at T.W. Oliver Memorial Gymnasium on Wednesday night.
Madison Hamilton had four kills, nine blocks and three digs in the 25-12 and 25-16 match sweep. Akira Keathley finished with nine blocks and four kills.
Madi Meade totaled 24 digs while Emily Johnson had 10 and Mallory Hall net 11.
Molly Boyd had nine kills for the Lady Blackcats. Kennedy Greer had seven digs, while Jada Slone totaled nine assists and six digs.
East Ridge wins tri-match at Knott Central
East Ridge went on the road to Hindman on Thursday night and beat Clay County and host Knott Central by identical 2-0 scores.
In the win over Clay County, Hannah Blackburn had five kills and Courtlin Phillips finished with five digs in the 25-8 and 25-10 win. Mattie Wells had six assists and Sarah Woods added five.
Sylvia Ratliff had six kills and Courtlin Phillips totaled 17 digs n the 25-17 and 25-18 win.
Sarah Woods added 13 assists.
Paintsville wins Seeds for Success Tournament
Paintsville bounced back from an earlier loss to Ashland Blazer to knock off the Kittens, 2-0, in the championship match of the Seed for Success tournament played at Fleming County this past weekend.
Hailey Little had five kills and six serving aces in the 25-10 and 25-14 sweep. Kat Baldwin added nine kills while Kara Ward added four digs and seven aces. Kynzi Slone finished with 18 assists.
