The Johnson Central Golden Eagles remained atop the latest Mountain Top Sports Super 7 football poll released on Tuesday.
Johnson Central, now 4-2, beat Clay County in their first game played since the passing of legendary head coach Jim Matney.
Pikeville (5-2) held the No. 2 spot following a close loss at Class 6A Madison Central.
Lawrence County, with a record of 5-1, takes the third spot, followed by Letcher Central, also 5-1.
Betsy Layne, 6-0, is fifth. The Bobcats were idle this past week.
Rounding out the poll are Martin County (5-3) at No. 6 and Logan (4-2) is seventh.
Receiving votes were Belfry (2-5), Shelby Valley (3-3), Prestonsburg (4-3).
